The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Jermaine Bingham, aged 20, who was involved in two auto burglaries.
The first vehicle burglary took place on June 22 in the 4300 block of Pauger Street. The victim explained to police that around 11 p.m. on June 21, they parked their vehicle in the side driveway of the residence. The car was left unlocked with a pocket knife, company cell phone, and tire/rim wheel lock on the center console.
When the victim returned to the vehicle the next day around 6 p.m., he told the NOPD that the center console had been ransacked and his cell phone and knife were missing.
The second vehicle burglary was reported on July 5 in the 4400 block of Mandeville Street. The victim said he parked his vehicle in front of his home around 3 p.m. on July 3 and locked the doors. He told NOPD that when he returned to his vehicle at about 5:30 p.m. on July 4, both the driver and passenger doors were open. The victim’s vehicle registration and insurance paperwork were missing from the glove compartment.
NOPD detectives developed Bingham as the perpetrator in each of the incidents, and he has additional warrants out for his arrest in both Orleans and Jefferson parishes.
