Easter egg hunts planned for City Park, Joe Brown Park
Families in Gentilly don’t have to go far to take the kids to an Easter egg hunt. Joe Brown Park, the New Orleans Museum of Art and City Park are all holding Easter events for children this weekend.
Don’t have kids? There’s an Easter egg hunt for you, too, with free-flowing beer in City Park’s Carousel Gardens Amusement Park.
Eggstravaganza on Lafitte Greenway
Children are invited to hunt for Easter eggs at Joe W. Brown Park on Saturday, April 1. The free Easter Eggstravaganza is hosted by the New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission.
The event will include bounce houses, face painting, treat bags, sack races and a visit from the Easter Bunny — as well as the hunt for candy-filled eggs.
Families will gather at Joe Brown Rec Center, 5601 Read Blvd., and will need to bring their own Easter basket.
The free event will last from 10 am to 1 p.m.
NOMA Easter Egg Hunt and Family Festival in the Sculpture Garden
Children can hunt for over 18,000 eggs this Saturday at the New Orleans Museum of Art Egg Hunt and Family Festival on Saturday, April 1.
The festival will feature several events for all ages, including crafts, games, music and more.
The egg hunt will take place in NOMA’s Besthoff Sculpture Garden. It will start at 10:30 a.m. and be divided into two groups, one for kids 4 and under and another for kids 5 and up.
The event is a fundraiser for NOMA’s learning and engagement initiatives and exhibitions.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Children under 2 years old receive free admission. Advance tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for museum members. All tickets will be $18 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased here.
Egg Scramble in Carousel Gardens
City Park will be hosting an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2, to hop into the Easter season.
Children will enjoy an egg hunt, music, a visit from the Easter Bunny and unlimited amusement park rides. City Park will supply the bags as well as the eggs.
The Egg Scramble will be from 9 a.m. to noon both days
Everyone over 36 inches in height has to purchase a ticket. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here. All proceeds of the event benefit City Park. No refunds, rain checks or exchanges will be offered for the event.
On April 8 , adults can get into the Easter spirits with City Park’s Bunny Hops, an adults-only Easter egg hunt.
The event, held in the Carousel Garden Amusement Park, will include open beer bars, jambalaya, music and unlimited rides at the Amusement Park.
