Girl Scouts invited to ‘re-imagine our life with water’ on Lakefront
The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation will host “Splash!”, a water engineering event for Girl Scouts to explore ways to re-imagine our life with water.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, Girl Scouts can design, build, and test ways to live with water. Activities will include designing an aquifer, moving water with ancient technology, and various engineering challenges.
The event takes place at the New Canal Lighthouse (8001 Lakeshore Dr.) and is open to Girl Scouts in K-12th grade. Scouts can spend an hour there or stay the entire time.
The cost is $5 per person (including adults) to be paid at the door, and participating Girl Scouts will receive a patch. Visit Splash! for more information.
