Hollywood Thrift is the annual fundraiser sale for ricRACK, a sewing and textile recycling non-profit in New Orleans. ricRACK curates the collection of men’s, women’s, and kid’s clothing, costumes, and accessories donated from local film, television, and other projects for a big sale in Gentilly once a year.

Hollywood Thrift is home to costumes and clothing alike.

Mannequins dawn looks and accessories you can take home.

Shoes of various styles and sizes fill the bleachers of this Gentilly gym.
Items are organized and priced for the public to buy only once per year, during this one event at a temporary Gentilly location: St. James Major Church, 3736 Gentilly Blvd. According to ricRACK, proceeds from this sale will be invested back in the local community through sewing classes in schools, scholarships, training programs, and financial aid.

‘Wacky Tacky Holiday Masks’ are silent auction items this year. Patrons can bid on masks created by New Orleans-based costume designers.

Two holiday masks donated and created by Dolores Ybarra, costume designer and associate creative director for TV series ‘Claws.’

Christmas-themed masks created and donated by Jenny Campbell, costume designer for Krewe of Iris.
Hollywood Thrift is a ticketed event, and capacity is closely monitored, only 20 people can enter each hour. Masks are mandatory, and temperatures are taken at the door. Tickets for Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. are $10, and Sunday is free to enter on a first come, first served basis.

Along with typical thrifts, full Mardi Gras costumes are on the racks for sale.
