Man robbed at gunpoint while trying to sell a gun
A man was robbed at gunpoint while trying to sell a firearm Monday in Gentilly, the New Orleans Police Department reported.
At 9:44 p.m. on April 1, the victim, 42, met with a man he knew as James, believed to be in his early 20s, in the 4300 block of Chef Menteur Highway. James had arranged to buy a gun from the victim.
When he showed James the gun, he produced his own firearm and demanded the 42-year-old’s weapon and his wallet. The victim complied.
The gunman then got into a blue Chevy Impala and drove away. He is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, with short hair and wearing a dark shirt and jeans.
