Man shot to death at Shell station on Franklin
A man was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 18) at a Franklin Avenue gas station, the New Orleans Police Department reported.
At 5:24 p.m., NOPD Third District detectives responded to a call of a shooting in the 3400 block of Franklin Avenue. At the Shell station off the interstate, officers found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds. The Emergency Medical Services brought the victim to a local hospital, where he later died.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Calvin Brown Jr. He was 41.
Police learned that the victim was with the man suspected of shooting him when he entered the gas station. He was shot as the two were leaving.
No additional details are currently available. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of an autopsy and notification of his family.
