Olympic Gold medalist Gabby Douglas to give lecture at Dillard University
Dillard University’s Brain Food lecture series will feature Olympic Gold medalist Gabby Douglas as its featured speaker this month. Gabby Douglas, the first woman of color to win an Olympic Gold medal as the All-Around Individual Gymnastics Champion, will present her story to the Dillard community on Tuesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. in Dillard’s Lawless Chapel.
Dillard University is located at 2601 Gentilly Boulevard. The lecture is free and open to the public.
“We are excited to have Gabby Douglas, a pioneer and champion in her sport, visit our campus,” said Dillard President Walter M. Kimbrough in a statement to the press. “It is even more impactful when you put this into the context of Women’s History Month, which we celebrate throughout March. Ms. Douglas is certainly a history maker and we hope that she will inspire both our young women and young men to make some history of their own.”
