Police arrest suspects in Nola Smoke & Vape robberies
The New Orleans Police Department announced arrests in both of the recent armed robberies of the Nola Smoke & Vape Shop in the 3100 block of Gentilly Boulevard.
The store was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday (May 5) and on Sunday (May 8). Police believe the robberies were committed by two different gunmen.
On Monday, the New Orleans Police Department arrested 37-year-old Jeremy Stokes in the May 8 armed robbery
Stokes was arrested on one count of armed robbery with a firearm and booked at the Orleans Justice Center. Other charges include theft of a firearm, possession of firearm by a felon and possession of crack cocaine,
He remained jailed Wednesday (May 11) on $110,000 bail.
On Tuesday (May 10), officers arrested 61-year-old Lloyd Justin in the robbery of the Nola Smoke & Vape that occurred on May 5.
Justin faces charges of robbery with a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond had not been set as of Wednesday, and he remained in Orleans Justice Center. Sheriff’s Office records show Justin has long history of drug convictions.
According to investigators, the robber entered the business, produced a large black semiautomatic pistol, and demanded money from both cash registers. The suspect fled the location with the money.
The shop next to Smoke & Vape, Boost Mobile, was robbed on Saturday. Police have released surveillance photos but have not announced an arrest in that robbery.
