Police blotter: Shootings in St. Anthony and St. Bernard neighborhoods
Two shootings were reported eight hours apart in Gentilly neighborhoods.
The first took place Monday (Sept. 13) at about 5 p.m. A woman was inside her home in the 5700 block of Wickfield Drive, in the St. Anthony area, when someone opened fire on the house with a handgun, the New Orleans Police Department said.
The victim was struck in the shoulder and taken to the hospital in stable condition. A female suspect, who was not named by the NOPD, has been arrested.
The second shooting occurred in the St. Bernard area at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 14). Third District officers arrived in the 1200 block of St. Denis Street and found a male juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital.
