Police blotter: Three shootings, a carjacking reported in Gentilly neighborhoods
Three shootings and a carjacking were reported by police during the holiday weekend in and around Gentilly neighborhoods.
A woman was injured early Tuesday (May 31) in the Milneburg area.
She was found at 12:43 a.m. on the 6000 block of Franklin Avenue with a gunshot wound in her buttocks and transported to a local hospital.
The two other shootings took place on Saturday (May 28) near the interstate.
A man was found with multiple gunshot wounds at the corner of Elysian Fields Avenue and Agriculture Street by police at 12:30 p.m. He was taken to a local hospital.
About seven hours later that day, a man was shot on the 3000 block of Elysian Fields Avenue. The man was in a car at 7:50 p.m. when another man pulled up beside him and opened fire. The victim then took himself to a local hospital.
A carjacking also near the interstate occurred Sunday (May 29).
A man in a gray 2017 Ford Focus was at the corner of France and Old Gentilly Roads at 8:22 a.m. when he was forced to turn over his vehicle at knifepoint. The Ford Focus has Louisiana license plate 727 CMN.
