Vehicle, suspect sought for armed robberies and attempted rape in Gentilly
The NOPD is looking for a suspect wanted in connection to multiple armed robberies and an attempted rape on Monday, Oct. 31 in the Third District.
According to police, between 5:45 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. on Oct. 31, an unknown black male robbed three individuals and attempted to sexually assault a fourth person. He took cash from a man in the 6200 block of Eads Street, a backpack from a woman in the 4300 block of Lotus Street, and a man’s cell phone in the 2700 block of Selma Street. He then attempted to sexually assault a woman in the 5700 block of St. Anthony Avenue before fleeing the area on foot.
The perpetrator is described as a black male with a dark complexion who is in his 20s to early 30s. He is approximately 6’ tall with a slender build and a beard. He was wearing a red baseball cap, red shirt, and dark pants. The vehicle used by the suspect is described as a minivan that’s reddish or brown in color.
