Orleans Parish School Board invites community to town hall meeting
The Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) will hold a town hall at the McDonogh 35 High School to share findings from March’s citywide Survey, discuss plans for school years, and to invite public comment.
The town hall forums are part of the OPSB’s public engagement efforts, as the state’s Recovery School District (RSD) steps back and OPSB begins oversight of all New Orleans public schools for the first time since Hurricane Katrina.
The March citywide survey, which was conducted until May 5, 2017, was open to every New Orleans resident aged 18 and up. The OPSB said they received over 3,000 responses and look forward to sharing findings with the community.
The OPSB Gentilly town hall takes place at 6 p.m. this Thursday, Sept. 7 at McDonogh 35 High School, located at 4000 Cadillac Street. OPSB Superintendent Ph.D. Henderson Lewis, Jr., board members, and school officials will be in attendance.
